Matt Horne
Matt was born on the Isle of
Wight. From an early age of 10 he used to go fishing
with many of the island's local commercial fisherman.
Since his childhood he hasn't
looked back. For as long as he can remember, fishing has
been a part of his life that he loves.
He eventually moved off the Island
to work as a farmer. During this time he still carried
on fishing when he could. He joined Elmore angling club,
and began fishing the within the local beach match
scene.
From experience with boat fishing
and sailing he went on to buy his first boat "Dejon 14"
in 1990, and persued his new hobby further. From this
first boat he upgraded over the years to:
-
A "Dell Quay Dory"
-
An "Orkney Strikeliner 16"
-
An "Orkney Day Angler 19+"
-
And finally the "Offshore 32"
in 2007
This most recent boat the Offshore
32 named "Optimist" was for his charter fishing
business, which was always the goal he was working
towards. Finally he is there and still remains as keen
in the business of sailing and fishing as he ever was.
He uses the boat for many different services and
sometimes helps with boat delivery around Europe to
broaden his boating experience.
"I still get the same buzz from
catching fish and helping others catch their fish"
- Matt Horne -
